6 steps for giving a convincing sales pitch

The best sales pitch ever is no sales pitch at all - they say. There is something in this statement. Let me explain it to you.

Let's take a two buzzwords under the loop:

permission marketing (Seth Godin) is about reaching out to people after they have given you perminision to. No more interruption marketing.

inbound marketing is about attracting people to your business or website who are looking for information you have expertise in. Blogging, social media, search marketing are three channels for inbound marketing.

Difference here is you are telling interested audience about service or product which can help them. You are not adressing your sales pitch to a random stranger. Huge difference.

As we might think we don't need to make sales pitches anymore - we can be wrong. We should have had prepared and trained sales pitch as sales pitches are needed in unexpected situations too.

"Sales pitch" is no longer the information you throw to your listener like baseball player would pitch a ball at a batter. Now it is more conversation. You listen to the buyer you get to know him better, ask questions. Offer a solution to problem they are experiencing.

Good sales pitch starts with a great first impression. Then it holds audiences attention until winning them over.

It seem sound simple but it is an art which requires upfront work and hands-on experience and practice.

I believe it is one of the most important and undervalued skills nowadays.

Let' have a look how good sales pitch looks like in action.
